06 I THINK IS THE BEST. ITS NOT HYDROLIC CLUTCH AND ITS JUST AS FAST.
:2thumbs:
07 ALLLLLLL THE WAY ITS A POWER HOUSE I HAVE HAD EVERY 1000 SINCE 2001 AN THE 07-08 IS AT LEAST !!! 10 HP STRONGER THEN ANY EARLER 1000 ....AN I LOOOOOVE THE CLUTCH ONCE U GET USE TO IT ! :2thumbs:
05-06 gsxr1000 period:2thumbs: :pissed:
07-08 the way to go. my 08 is the best one i had so for. the clutch is not bad at all. all the early years can't touch it. 07-08 :2thumbs:
Ive had 03/04, 05/06, and my new one is 07

03/04 is by far the most comfy for street use but the slowest easily

05/06 is the best bang for buck imo. But for light mods the 07 is a solid amount faster and not comfy at all
DUH!!! k5 k6 FTMFW!!!! :buttrock: :buttrock: :buttrock:
07/08 ARE !!!!!!!!!!!!!! POWER HOUSES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ANNND ABOUT SEXY AS MY GIRL !!!!! LOLOLOL
the older you go the stronger the bottom ends get....so it depends on what you want to do...
the best way to go is 03-04 with 05-06 motor in
Best price used and fastest would be 05-06. Any one built after 05 Kaw or Zuk is flyin with basic mods and a 50 shot
thanks for all the info guys , i am not totaly sure what i want to do yet , i have found another 07 zx10r cheep but it seems like the gsxr has a lot more aftermarket parts availble , i also have kicked around getting a busa. I am looking to run low 8s maybe high 7s . I have thought about a grudge style as well ( long, slider ,slick)
Ive had an k1 but wouldnt get ride of my k6. Any of the newer bikes with a little head work and a 3mil good clutch and suspention set up and you will be low 8s all day

i knew that was comming , let me know if you see anything come up for sale
05-06 forsure.......... i hears the 07 and 08's don't have as much mid range as the 05-06's.
the best way to go is 03-04 with 05-06 motor in
i agree....:2thumbs:
Depends on what mods you want to do. 07/08 cases have less metal there so anything larger than a 3 mil overheating issues will occur. If you look at real street and grudge bikes k5/k6's 1000 are everywhere. As for running sevens the real street guys are doing it in fully dressed k5/k6's and kt on a 07.
If you are gonna stay fairly stock with the motor i would get the '07-'08 all day long. They are simply the fastest. If you are looking to go low 8's high 7's you are better off to find the cheapest gixxer you can get because you are gonna have to completely rebuild everything anyways. Pick you up a cheap '04 or so because they have the stronger bottom end and still look decent and are pretty cheap. Get you some rods, pistons, head and cams, studs, tranny done and a good wet kit with a good clutch.
