Just put a ti-winder on a 07 1000,pipe was bad azz out of the box but have a few major issues with fitment..

One of the spickets didnt have a hole in the right spot for the spring, easy fix drilled another in the right spot..

The bracket they give You to bolt the megaphone to the peg bracket wasn't long enough(simple fix made a small bracket)..

The bracket they give you to hold and space out the bottom of the radiator wasn't long enough either, and the fan was hitting the pipes bigtime!!,I shaved the the fan's circle part to be thinner for more clearance and added a spacer to the bracket to push the radiator out more but its still hitting and the rad cant go out more do to the way the plastics fit so tightly against it and the shape..

Anyone else have problems with mounting or am I just going crazy?

No that sounds about right. I went through this about 2 years ago right when it came out. There are a few things you need to do. I went with a muzzy fan and that helped the clearence issue.( I got one for sale for an 07 never installed 30tyd) You need to either block off the oil line to the oil cooler or use the bypass line from Brock. You also need to get the Brake pedal extender so it wont hit the pipe. I actually did that and I cut and rewelded the brake lever. Just make sure to remove the plastic bushing before you weld it or it will melt. You will also need the oil filter relocator other wise you will have to pull off the pipe every time you change the oil. I Also found that you just need to use the stock bracket and put a few washers on the bolt that attaches to the the block and cut off the tabs for the oil cooler. Dont go too far or you will be screwing with how the fairing comes together in the front. Hope this helps. It a great pipe but I suggest you dont remove teh baffle or the resonance vibration will rattle the nameplate tag right off of it. Good Luck

Been working on Bikes for over 25 years and have put many pipes on and just can't believe the stuff that was happing!!..I Got the oil bypass and Modded the brake pedal that stuff is easy,I also shortended the tip part of the brake lever so re-welding isn't needed and added the longer clevis supplied By BROCK..I wish those were some of the worries!!

I spacered out the bracket they gave Me and Like you said its messing with how the front plastics the ones that come down around it fit..I modded the front chin thingy and got everything pretty good now but just cant believe Brock would sell something with these issues..He's a top notch Guy and not trying to bash anyone but this pipe Aint cheap and you would think any issues would of been dealt with before selling

The aluminum spicket things should just come with 4 holes for the springs so which way they go on don't matter..

I will take that Muzzy fan lmk Your paypal..thx

I agree I was super pissed when I put it on. I ended up talking to Brock and he sent me some gear and I got it together but the mounting bracket at the big end didn't really fit and I had to Fab up a few things to get it all together right. Tell me does your main tube that come from the 4 to the 2 wiggle in the head? I have mine apart doing some other work and I noticed they rocked in the head a little bit. I called them up just last Week and they said that my copper exhaust head bushing must be crushed to much. Not really sure on that one I bought the bike and the pipe brand new.

YES!!..Its actually leaking from those!!!!!!!!!!:pissed:

was going to post that but figured it was just the gaskets which I never change and never had a problem!!!!!

I was thinking the whole way they have that piece that goes inside the port sucked and the way the pipe doesn't slip ONTO something sucked..but hey what the hell do I know!!!

I also went onto there site and they showed Red sealer all over everything!! If i wanted spend big money on a pipe the last thing I want it to relay on sealer to stop it from leaking!!!

NO, the only thing sent wrong was the product it's self :s21: I had two customers with ti-winders come in with all the same problems and nothing was done to correct the problems. One of the guys refused to put it on his bike and I ended up putting a different brand on it for him. Again not worth advertising something on your bike that isn't right and your not 100% happy with Bro. :2thumbs: See ya soon :friends:

i ran into two of those problems. my footpeg bracket wasn't long enough to keep the rear brake, so i just removed the rear brake. and the header was hitting the fan and melted a couple spots on my fan. i found that the #4 pipe wasn't completely seated in the flange so i had to bump the header a few times with my palm to get it to go in some more. all the other flanges slipped on easily, but that one was a little tighter fit. once i finally got everything mounted up i also had to slightly bend the footpeg mounting bracket so i could bolt up the megaphone to it. even with that i had to lean against the megaphone to get holes lined up squarely. so don't feel bad, you're not alone.

I have only owned one bike with a sidewinder. a 05 gsxr 1000 with a tsukigi. fit and finish was pretty good. did not have any of the problems you guys are having. Only thing I really did not like was the need to remove the header to change the oil filter. All sidewinders are that way though. I didn't feel like spending the $280 for the oil filter relocator so the oil filter comes in the side instead of the front.
I have a brocks alien head on my 09 busa and am really happy with it.

I definatly like the billet pan for additional ground clearance. most of my race bikes have ben turbo bikes. Or they were street bikes and I wanted to keep them more of a street bike then a drag bike so they had stock body work, oil pan, and a normal exhaust. I did ride the 05 gsxr 1000 with billet pan, side winder, supercharger at 12lbs of boost, and 100hp shot of nos on the street alot. luckily I only draged the side winder really hard once.
I just noticed rc's performance has a pretty nice looking oil filter adapter for $220.

The Vance & Hines pipe bolts right on. It doesn't hit the fan or need spacers to make it work. It works with a 1" pan also and will never be the lowest point on the bike and also makes great power. Yes the V&H may be a few pounds heavier but the weight is where it needs to be up front and down low. It also does add a ounce or so to the rider since they will have a extra $500+ in the pocket. The only thing that really might need to be adjusted is the break pedal since it is up high.

Best of luck. Ed
I agree Eddie, I also like the V&H's sidewinders they are a easy bolt on with no trouble like any sidewinder should be and they sound good and look good too. and they come with the oil cooler by pass kit. :buttrock: Not to mention they are the least amount of money.....:applause:

Brock told us they sent the wrong spickets, can't see how all the other people had the right stuff and the same problems!!

And not to mention I already cut the plastic,if the spickets are wrong wonder how far off the cuts are going to be!!!
