Busa cams won't fit in a 1000 engine of any year. Anyone that says they can needs to be ignored for any and all advice on motorcycles, they clearly have no idea what they are talking about.

What they are likely trying to convey is the common practice of using 2 intake cams. The exhaust cam on all bikes, including the Busa and 1000, are significantly smaller than the intake cam. Leaving the factory intake cam, but replacing the factory exhaust cam with a second intake cam is common practice. A used stock intake cam is a good bit cheaper than a new aftermarket cam, and worth a few horsepower when replacing the OEM exhaust cam. But this is no replacement for a full set of aftermarket cams and springs.

You need to find someone that knows their business and make yourself their paying customer. Too many "experts" in this internet world, if you listen to them they will get you in trouble. Expensive trouble.
