Hey James, that English guy said to tell you that the .165 decent light he cut was the slowest he had cut in the two days. Most were .02s down to .017 he didn't want to red light. He said it was nice to meet you.:2thumbs:yeah the guy is from england and this was the first time he ever raced. could have fooled me because he ran on his dial and cut a decent light for a slow bike. He actually is a cool guy. He wanted me to post that race on youtube when he saw my helmet cam. He said I know you got my whole pass on tape :s24:
Sam is a great guy to talk to. I met him at Piedmont Dragway about 3 years ago while he was on a vacation to the States. I had my old Honda CB750F at that race and they were amazed that anyone still raced one. Sam competes in sprint racing at some tracks in England- not sure what the hell sprint racing is all about. Last year Sam found an old 750 Hondamatic street bike and they decided to make it into a full out dragbike. Notice i said Hondamatic- it doesn't have a hand clutch but uses a torque converter like a car. If you noticed any videos of the bike you can see how slow the 60' is on the pass. These things were not built for dragracing so Sam and crew have done an excellent job of modifying and tweeking this thing for race purposes. This bike build was literally an international effort. Sam lives in England, the motor was built by a guy in New England (USA) and the chassis was set up by 2 fellas from Atlanta. Parts were sent from all over with advice coming from every corner of the world through a Honda SOHC forum. IF you guys have a few moments you can follow the build from beginning to end here:CB750A Street ET bracket drag bike. A year to build it.sun bleached lol
