I just recently received my GT3582R turbo and upon inspection I noticed that 5 out of 6 of the holes that secure the compressor housing to the CHRA assembly are drilled straight into the air passage way. I have never seen this before on other turbos. Was wondering if anyone else has seen this on their turbos?

No! Ebay special?
Yeah. From what I found Garrett also HAD compressor housings with the bolts drilled and tapped into the airway. I really don't understand why someone would design a compressor housing like this. I found that others who have had this issue used thread sealant on the bolts that were exposed to prevent any boost leaks.
