which size tire r u running on ur bike 180/55 or 190/50? is it true that the 180 will help u pick up mph?

I have a 180 michelin on my 66" busa. I think I picked up 2 mph from the tire size going from a 190-50. Just doesnt look as good and I had to raise bike up a lil due to tire height.
