Default How To Improve Velocity Stage 1

I make 254 HP on the Stage 1 at 8 psi on the '06 GSXR 1000 stock motor. I'm having rods and pistons installed on the motor as we speak and I already have the DBB turbo and external wastegate setup on my bike. How can I get another 5 psi or so without spending $4000 for the additional hardware in the Stage 2 kit?

I can dial up as much boost as I want, the problem is getting more fuel to the motor.

Are you saying that these injectors alone will allow me to run more boost? Are they in a plenum or do they go in the stock location?

dont know from personal experience, but i've heard of 300+ on stock injectors, just turn up the fuel pressure and tune for it. Make sure you're tuning all 8 injectors with either a bazzaz or 2 PC3's

My first task is to get some pistons and rods because anything more than 8 psi is like playing roulette with your motor.

Piston, Rods, Lower your compression. Add on top of wastegate. Dyno time, bigger fuel pressure regulator

No, you don't need the plenum mounted injectors. You can use a second power commander on the secondary (upper) injectors. The power commander hub has a boost reference input that can be used to increase the amount of fuel delivered as it sees rising boost.

Many companies use a Microtech brand controller for the plenum mounted injectors that they sell, including VR. The Microtech is a very good controller....probably better than the power commander....but it all depends what you want to spend your money on.

People will spend the money on this type of setup because the work is already done for them. Install the parts, load the supplied fuel map, and go.

The second power commander approach will most likely require more tuning on your part, but will cost much less. The '08 GSXR-1000 that my team has been working on has the dual PCs(on a VR stage one as well). It makes 325 hp/165 tq on 20 psi. We bought the second PC, and the PC hub with its optional cables (for boost reference)....that's it. We did move from the supplied FMU, to a 1:1 rising rate fuel pressure regulator, to push more fuel.

You bought a bike with 8 injectors....why not use em?

Feel free to PM me with questions.

You could flash the ecu to run the primary injectors only with the std ecu and run the secondarys with the microtech or similar boost compensating controller .
Most go for the secondary systems as there more reliable at higher boost settings than the fmu and allow for accurate fueling at varying boost levels .
