turbo to tire clearance

This is a discussion about turbo to tire clearance within the Turbo Nitrous section, where you will Drag Racers sharing info on Turbo and Nitrous applications; what turbo to tire clearance does most of the top prostreet bikes have,with a 17in. tire....show pics if possible

    what turbo to tire clearance does most of the top prostreet bikes have,with a 17in. tire....show pics if possible

    Are u running offset clamps, I have a .500 offset clamps i can't even fit a 17" i have 16" it also depends the header u are using. I have .750 clearence between tire and turbo and even had to grind the compresor housing a little

    yes i have .5 inch offset clamps with a pirelli 90/80/17 theres about 5/8 in. of clearance,so what is the normal clearance needed for a prostreet. what kind of 16in wheel do you have

    the main thing you need to look at is how much cleaqrance you have once you forks are compressed.

    i have compressed the forks as far as i could using tiedown straps on my table lift and actually gained some clearance. the center of the tire went above the turbo and gave some clearance

    Actually I tried the same thing and had about the same in clearance but I didn't want to take the chance in wiping out during braking. There are some that do use the 17 inch wheel but I didn't like it. I went to a 16 honda cbr wheel, and a low profile tire. I just feel safer that way. Ronnie use 17 inch wheels on his ps bikes all the time. So I guess if your doing it right than it safe. I did look at his at the trake one day and he had about a 1inch of clearance.

    richie is the michelin tire a lower profile than the pirelli 90/80/17 that i have

    if i went this route where do i find the axle to fit a gsxr 1000 to a cbr wheel conversion

    Yes it is .That is why in a 17 inch on pst you only see the michelin power pure or pilot power
