Turbo and Nitrous applications; What happens if you pinch the diaphram in a tial wastegate changing springs? Boost creep, no boost, slow to boost? Has anyone ever done this, what should one look for?

well if you have some form of way to check for leaks i would do so i had a tore diaphram and it was causing me to loose boost at the starting line not good double check to make sure no leaks

put a vaccum on it..if it holds, you're good..it not, replace it.

Pinching the diaphram under the top cap can stop the wastegate moving thru its normal range, may overboost
Can cause a cut in the diaphram then boost pressure cannot push the valve off its seat , again overboost

you cannot tell if you pinched the diaphragm by pulling vacuum or applying pressure. You need to put it together carefully so you dont pinch it.
If there is a rupture in the diaphragm then you can tell by applying pressure to the top.
