Default 06 Gixxer 1000 Turbo Questions

06 1000, Thicker headgasket and a home made turbo kit with a Garret 28 turbo... Would it be better to run E85 or premium gas? The bike has an external pump which i think is a Walbro 255 but isnt confirmed yet. Looking for horsepower range around 260, will be tuned with Bazzaz zfi box.

ether way the fuel will not be very consistant unless running canned fuel and keep it out of the hot humid air. Premium pump would be your better bet if street riding. no saying its 100% safe tho
Working on my slow ass zx10r hope I finish it soon so I can go play with all the other slow ass bikes out there

Yes. Ive read these motors are good for 300hp. Schnitz told me to expect anywhere from 240 to 260.

I have an 05 1000 turbo...the engines are good for much more then 300,with the right parts. I would be *very* careful pushing past 220 on stock rods pistons, valves etc..and you are going to have to upgrade your clutch.
Im not trying to tell you what to do;more like trying to help save you big money&problems when it decides to let go ;)

With the "right" parts of course its good for more then 300... its all a matter of time when things let go but guys are at 240 all day long no problems, who knows it might not even make that much. sent my turbo off to get rebuilt so ill chime back in in a month let you know how she does...

Valve springs,if it iconal valves they have to b switched to stainless, at least rods. The pistons are already forged its the rods that let go. Get it tuned rite!!!!!!

F you go that far u may as well put turbo pistons, cams, studs, good head gasket, over size the exhaust valves would be a good upgrade also. Then it should hold your 250 plans all day and nite and then some. Open the rod bearings up a little and raise the oil pressure. Then u can squeeze that gt28 for all it's worth. Now if u don't want to go thru all that keep the constant power under 225 and you should b safe for while. Not saying you couldnt pull off a real short 250 squirt but don't hang it's tongue out at that power or it's coming apart. God a feel a massive déjà vu rite now like if said this before and it was looked past lol.

If money is a factor look at it like this. People always say I can't afford to do all that but yet they beat it to death and blow it up then some how come up with the money to do rite the next time and by then you've broke more stuff so it cost more. If it takes you a little longer and lil more cash to do it rite the first time then you don't have worry about it costing more later when u destroy it. If you can afford to do it rite on round 2 then it stands to reason you should do it in round 1

Don't miss out on one of the most important "to Do's" , the oil bypass or drill out the restrictor when you remove the oil cooler

Good engine management and tuneup is as or more important than the parts list , bad tuneup will hurt quality parts nearly as quick as std parts

personally if i were building what you are i would
    ceramic coat the original pistons,
go a size larger on the big end bearings
    head studs, valve springs,.070 headgasket
pretty sure your valves are Ti, if so change them out for earlier or stainless

Engine management,, get it flashed for hardcut, and ...
if you run something like a microtech on the secondary injectors you can set the primarys to 100%
if you use a boost referenced piggyback like the AEM,set the primary/secondary to 50% where it is currently 20

If you exceed 10 psi start thinking about intercoolers rods and pistons
