Default WHEN DO YOU KNOW ITS TIME FOR A NEW CHAIN??

I BOUGHT A RACING CHAIN FROM CAROLINA CYCLES AROUND A YEAR AGO. I WAS WONDERING WHEN DO YOU KNOW ITS TIME FOR A NEW ONE. I WAS GOING TO DO ALOT OF RACING THATS THE REASON I GOT IT. BUT I ENDED UP JUST MAINLY STREET RIDIND IT AND PROBABLY 20 TRIPS DOWN THE TRACK. I KEPT IT CLEANED AND LUBED BUT IT SEEMS TO STRETCH AND LOOSEN EVERY TIME I RIDE IT HARD. AND WHATS THE BEST CHAIN TO GET FOR MAINLY STREETRIDING SOME DRAGRACING DAYS?? I ALWAYS CLEANED IT WITH WD40 BUT WAS TOLD THAT WAS A BAD IDEA.AND IT SEEMS THAT THE CHAIN IS MAKING ALOT OF POPPING NOISES WHEN ON THE JACK STAND WHILE ROTATING THE TIRE. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRERCIATED THANKS FAM!!!

zzz or ZVX2, if you want a low maintanance oring chain (low maintenance, not no maintenance)

i got a non oring chain on my bike, (DRZ2) and i street ride it, but i keep it REALLY clean, and i lube the crap out of it... i prefer no oring chains as there is less drag.

silkolene synthetic prochain lube is the best stuff i have found for orign and non oring chains. clean it with wd-40, then blast it out with air, (to get all the wd out) then hit it with the silkolene.

and about your question , when to replace. i think the rule is like when it has stretched 2-3% of the original length AFTER the initial 100 mile stretch (dont quote me on that though)

in my case i use 154 links so i would change it when it stretches out 3.08 - 4.62 links...so somewhere between 3 and 5 links worth of stretch, it needs to be changed.

HOWEVER...if you go with the ZVX2...this chain isnt supposed to strecth so i guess you would just replace it when it starts to kink.

get with goldenchild, he can give you much more accurate information than i can.
