i will be using the motor out of my streetbike in my new chassis which is currently a stock crank/rod motor. it runs quite well for a small motor, and i have had no problems with the stock rods thus far. i'm going to freshen up the motor before i put it in the new bike and am debating on throwing in a set of rods while its apart. i know good rods are a great insurance policy, but i think the stockers have already proved themselves. the motor is going in a much lighter bike, and i keep the rpms in check.
so that being said, i'm looking into have the rods cryo treated and/or shot peened while she's apart. to be honest, i dont have too much faith in either process, but i'm curious what others experiences have been. any info is appreciated, thanks!
