Default 520 Conversion - Worth the money?

I'm wanting to get a little feedback on the potential gains that could be expected from switching to a 520 chain and sprocket set up on a smaller cc bike. (i.e. cbr600rr) Lets also figure in a non-o-ring chain. Worth the money or minimal gains? I'm not fluent in calculating rotaional mass. Thanks for any help.

Depends on whats important to you. If your not at all worried about chain longevity and mainly rear sprocket longevity(the aluminum sprockets wear a good bit faster when you get them that thin so if you street ride alot with dragracing which is very hard on the sprockets and chain expect to replace them more often) then yes especially the more your stretched(the more chain links you have) the more weight you will be saving and the more it will help you. As for the non o-ring it will reduce drag and some weight as well trade off is much higher maintenance to make it last. Prob worth a tenth or so in the 1/4 on a stretched small displacement bike going to the 520 non oring chain and lighter 520 sprockets. Do that and ceramic bearings in the wheels and you will see an improvement in et and trap speed. Generally these things are when your looking for every last little bit. I would also look to taking off everything you dont need and one of those real light batteries.

Cheapest thing to do is run mrx01 fuel on that fuel you will pick up nicely over pump gas on motor and on spray just get that wideband you got hooked up and tweaked your map. Good fuel and perfect tune will make the biggest difference for the least $$$

Best of luck hope other can give you more specifics on your 520 conversion question
