I have a 06 ZX10r and I am having an 08 race intake cam installed, .045 head gasket and having the head decked. My builder wants to take .020 off the head. is that OK or should it be .015? Also, what should I recommend for degree on the cams? Thanks in advance.
if you're going to keep stock limiter of 12.7k rpm I'd recomend setting it around 107/107, tell your builder to set them at 107/107, put the hg on and measure ptvc, then take min ptvc out of it and you'll know exactly how much material to take of off the head.
do the .020, just finished 07 with .050 hg and .015 deck, set 08 race at 110.5, stk. ex.at 106.5, stk. ecu, hitting 12500 rev limiter still climbing. will soon retime to some more moderate lobe centers in the 108-105 range. should be about right for this particular engine.
Ok, great to hear some suggestions. What sort of rear wheel HP numbers are you seeing? I run VP MR12. Also, are these numbers good if I run a 40 shot on it, or do I have to change them? Sorry about the questions, but I am new to the idea of nitrous. Thanks.
04 with .045 hg, .015 deck, cnc vj, stk. lift web regrinds at 107-104.5, tiforce =188 on mr12. 07 with .050 hg, cnc vj, .015 deck, 08 race int., stk. ex., brock sw =180 on pump gas. i ported both heads.
