not looking for exact numbers or anything like that, but is there a big difference between running a stock head with 395/378 cams and running good ported head with like 425/425 cams (or some similar cam combo) on a gen 2 busa 1441 nitrous motor? im trying to justify the gains, would like any input on this. i do understand it would make more power im just trying to justify the $2-3k for head and cams...
i know i seen that thread and it got me thinking about a good head and better cams, i got the stock head small cams and 1441 already.... he got me thinking bout up grading
I would like to know before and after #'s also - I have a 1441 with a stock head. How much would the $800-$1200 pick me up over what Im running now Im going 5.60's in the 1/8th 8.70's in the 1/4 ( 750lbs bike and rider)
It's like this,u get 20-25hp gain from head & cams, but if u have a stock head & racing u have to put springs in anyway,so why not do head while It's off or why not do came while its apart?
I wouldn't waste money on the head work if you're going to spray it, that 15hp that you might gain with head/cams will buy bigger jets and lots a juice.
You say you wouldn't waste the money but put more fuel, cylinder pressure and small cams in same area and what happens? What moves the power you just made out the cylinder??
The Heads And Cam Ability To Follow... It's a Package or just some parts thrown together..
