Mtc slider set up tips

New to the slider game guys so go easy on me. So I just picked up a slider and was wondering about the oil restrictor plug it says in the instructions you can leave that rod thats inside the shaft in to limit flow or you can remove it so what's best In or out? Heard of guys saying their clutch paks were bone dry and breaking plates would like to avoid that

And also what are you guys doing with your stock clutch lever sensor to crank the bike after getting rid of the lever? I was thinking of running it to the rear brake light sensor that's on the front brake lever seeing its a grudge bike and there's no tail light if that's been done because I have stock hand controls still.

Lastly what's the best kind of oil to use with a slider? And 10w30?

Rotella T15w40 usually on sale $12.99 gallon. I ran a push bbutton for a while but went back to the clutch lever.. I like to still have it on the bike.

Cool thanks. Looking to get rid of my lever since cranking the bike will be its only purpose with the slider tho gotta shed every ounce possible off mine since I ain't a skinny kid that's 130-140 suited lol. So a 40w oil works good then? I know mtc's 411 says use 30w just didn't know if it mattered cause I normally use 40 with stock hand clutch

I will be drilling the restrictor plug next time I take the clutch out.. Id like to have more oil on the clutches.

Yes, run the clutch switch wires to the brake switch at the brake lever.

i deleted the controls and put a toggle switch for the clutch to crank.i do like j's thought about drilling the plug a little.my clutch is a little bit dryier than i like but i swap clutches every race.i run 5w 30 royal purple and love it,beat on it and havent had a oil problem in 2 years and its dry.

I've run the same clutches in my bike for three seasons and "still" beleive the pin hole in the restrictor plug is too small LOL !!! MTC says 10w 30 but I have been using 10w 40. Good so far. (4.70@150mph) Note: I hate being pulled back to the pits. Going to talk to Tim Hayes about some kind of changover to the hand clutch; slider combo. Good Luck

U can put it on the pass button also hazard button for nos activation. U can use all your stock buttons to control everything
