Depends on what compression ratio you want, best bet is to call Jay at APE

I would think you would only need the spacer for the crank if your getting low comp pistons with the same compression height as the stock ones? Unless your using the .080 spacer to drop the stock compression ratio with the stock pistons? then yes, you will need more than just the .040 for the crank.

Think it also depends on who makes the pistons. I think I read somewhere else that for 9.5:1 pistons, JE a spacer in manditory the way they are designed and CP Pistons do not require spacer it is optional.

Try using " Dynomation 5 " engine building software, will make your calculations a lot easier. I'm sure you'll find it on a google search.
Primarily it is used by cage driver engine builders but I'm sure it will help.

I THINK WHAT HES TRYING TO SAY IS THE 08 CRANK YRS NEEDS 1 MM (.040) WHICH IS 1/2 OF THE 2 MM STROKE GAIN .

AND I REMEMBER PUTTING SOME M--C TURBO PISTONS IN AND THE RING LAND WAS HIGHER AND YES YOU HAD TO ADD THE SPACER TO MAKE UP FOR THE TALLER DEC K HEIGHT

The JEs that require a .080 spacer are the 8:1. The CP 9.5:1 don't. The JEs are probably 9.5:1 too, and the spacer makes it 8:1

    Busa pistons

So if you are trying for 9.5:1 with an 08 crank. you would need only the .040 spacer. ( it will be slightly higher because of the stroke increase)

WRONG u cant do this. Jay sorry to bust ya but the piston will stick out the block. U need to add everything up. I would just buy a .100 and say the heck with it. If its a turbo the lower the compression the better.
