Which 1000 forks and weight difference

what forks can I put on my gen I busa. I have seen the 1000 forks and need to know what is easy to install and how much do they weigh or weight is saved.

the axle of the busa will fit directly.
u can the busa triple tree but u have to put a shim at the lower tree to hold the fork because of the smaller diameter of the fork.

Switch a complete front end. 750 and 1000's also have less offset.

Weight saving? I would guestimate roughly 6-8 pounds incluiding fender.

Im gonna try this swap onto my Gen1,I have a complete front end from a K5 1k&really want the radial brakes

don't know the weight saving.

the shims at any hardware store its like 1 mm thick. get a piece and cut it at the size.

the gixx fork is 1mm smaller than the busa

where can you get the shims from

I do HVAC for a living. I just use a piece of sheetmetal and cut it to size. Width to match triple clamp and wrap around the tube. Slide it between the clamp and tube and crank down. P

You can grind down the inner part on the lower tree where the bolt goes into that clamps down on the fork. It won't clamp because the pinch part is completely touching before it tightens down on the fork tube. If you make the part where it pinches wider it will pinch as far as you want it and tighten down to the fork

Does it need to be the a radial brake 04 or newer to get the light ones or can a 03 750 fork do the trick
