About LinkBacksI know this is not an uncommon thing for most of you guys but being that i haven't found a good tear down/ rebuild job with pics and info i decided to take it upon myself to make one. Have patience as this project is supposed to keep me busy for the first half of the cold season. Second half will be a fresh motor break in on the dyno, after which I will be installing an RCC turbo kit, another dyno, and hopefully it will be 70 and sunny the next day

Stage one, assess the situation. Busa!
Next, make her naked...
My chassis parts are all going to powdercoat, so ill be taking some extra steps not necessary for just removing the motor. subframe, gone...
Wiring harness, gone. That thing can be a royal pain in the @$$!!!!
With chain off and harness out, dropping the powerplant is a cakewalk.
Thats all for tonight, stay tuned! this 50k mile brute will come out next spring with new wings to fly on

Akroprovic carbons. I trimmed them down about 6", sweet pipe though.

okay, its been a while but ive been busy as hell getting tractors ready for our wisconsin winter.... ugh. so, with the Missus' permission i threw the power plant over my shoulder and brought it in the house. made a nice little workshop setup in the guest bedroom, and ready to go :)

after pulling valve covers i went to set the cams ( still not 100% why this needs to be done before a complete tear down...) and ran into my first problem... i had the sight cover off the damn starter clutch cover when i checked valve shim clearances a month ago, but low and behold the motherf#$@er would not come off. i destroyed it , then decided to just do it with the damn cover off. if anyone has one of these laying around, i need one now for reassembly let me know!
