Gixxer 1000 into the 8s???

I've got a 2006 gsxr 1000 down here in the valley. I want to go 8s. What are the main mods I need to get there. So far she's got a drop, m4 full exhaust, BMC race filter, 12 over evil Swingarm, shinko stealth tire, oh and a 225 lbs 6'4 rider. If you all could be of assistance I'd appreciate it. Any help that anyone has if youd like u can PM me instead of letting everyone on here seeing lol it doesnt really matter to me, but i kinda am trying to build a mini grudge bike for trash talk down here in the valley. If you're not geared, that's the best/easiest thing you can do. Probly around -2 +2. Clutch mod if you haven't done it. Other than that it's gonna be seat time, seat time, seat time. I'm still chasing 8's on my 07. Tough to do on a stock motor, but it is possible.

im on the same boat, chasing 8s with my 07 1000 , best time so far 9.42@148mph all motor. And best trap 153.6mph with a 30 shot but that was with an easy start on almost stock gearing, best 60ft so far is 1.60.

i dont have a clutch mod, still have the slipper in there. Only thing done is cycle concepts drag pak clutch with HD springs. How much will the clutc mod help out with the 60 ft ?

Get to the point where you ride your bike hard by leaving the line as hard as possible that doesnt meen slip clutch more . You pin from home and get that clutch out pretty fast you wanna act like you want to make the wheel float out the hole! But it basically comes down to seat time and know what and when your when your bike is gonna do. 07's are pretty easy to get into the 8's your a big guy id try 14 ,42 or 41 if for motor this will insure you get through traps in 6th getting allyour gears . Play around with gearing and find a good riding style that fits you

get to 68", 2004 Gsxr 1000 stock motor still never had valve cover off to this day(5 years later), brock clutch mod & pipe,stock oem suzuki fibers and steel plates, mapped power commander, 42 shot of nitrous,air shifter, 16/47 gearing and let it eat... 265lb rider... you will go high 8's if you leave at 7500, as the 1000 torque isn't huge out gate..

Thanks for the help guys. Only thing confusing me is the gearing everyone keeps throwing me different combos. One of my buddy's from down here in the valley goes by the name of Johnny Busa told me to run -2/+3.... And he said I'd fly... So I'm gonna see what that does...

Glad he agreed with me!! I noticed a few of those combos were the same, watch how low in teeth you go in the front cause that can cause swingarm rubbing

if you go down in the front i wouldn't go no more than 2t down. And with your weight i'd go -1 in the front and +3 or 4t in the rear. im 220 suited and on my 06 gsxr 1k i run -1 +4. gets me almost right there when i cross the line. with a 10" over swing arm, brocks exhaust, pcv, pcv ignition mod, map, and other stuff.. lol i can't remember.

also the more u go down in the front or go up in rear, lowers ur MPH.. but u get there faster.. there is a website that shows you ... im looking for it and will post it when i find it.
