how are you not running out of gearing

I do pretty much. I go through at the top of 6th. I just ran that gear to get my 60 down and make it easier to get into the 8s. I will be taking some gear out soon.

Get the rider to drop some weight. It's the easiest mod out there and it's completely free. Also, what's your 60' gixxerkid? I know it's tougher for a bigger guy to rip a quick 60', but at 12'' over I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be in the 1.4 range with the proper cogs.

I didn't say go straight to crack mode bro. But we all know that even 5lbs matters on these bikes. I'm just saying include it in your mod package and try to eat healthier and take care of yourself a little better. We could all benefit from that.

what 1/8 mile time does it take to run a 8.?? in the 1/4

Read somewhere that if you take your 1/8 e.t. and multiply it by 1.562468 that it'll give you close to what youll run in the 1/4. If that's so a 5.75 would be 8.99.

Don't know how accurate this is though. Anyone else heard this?

Just tried it on a few of my old slips....its pretty close.....little slow

My boy has a 07 with a brocks short meg and zfi and a 40 with bolt on extensions and went 8.5 and that was 1- 3+ gearing

Sorry to hijack the thread, but what sort of times are/were you guys running on stock wheelbase 1000's. I've got an 03 gixxer stock everything apart from a yoshi slip on. Only just started in drag racing, I've literally been 3 times to the strip and have a best if 10.7@130 with a crappy 2.0 60ft. Obviously seat time I will bring those times down but just wondering what it is capable of before I do any mods to it.

I ride a SWB '05 with Yoshi, pc3, Brocks clutch mod, lowered and strapped. Been as quick as 9.96. Run pretty regularly in the 10.00 area.
I'm definitely not as fast as I could be yet.
Seat time is definitely important

Ok thanks. So 9's are possible. Thats where id like to be with it lowered and strapped, before I go extended. Be back out in a week or two for more runs, Cheers.
