Most trailer mfg's use bias ply with low load ratings and inevitably we all overload them and they end up waffling. Use a radial tire and depending on the load you are caring go to the next highest rating. You will MF the pricing but wont be stuck on a rainy night in BFE on the side of the road changing tires. Weigh your trailer loaded divide by the number of tires and start from there... Most trailers come with Carlisle's but are not the right load rating for your junk in the trunk... Carlisle make a good tire if you get the right load rating which like mentioned in a previous post the sidewall ply will go up as the rating goes up...

The more side wall flex you get causes friction which is heat which will results in tire failure... If you don't believe me use a temp gauge on your trailer tires after you've been on the road... Also if you have trailer brakes that drag they'll also add heat and cause tire failure as well...

i used goodyear's and carlise, both good for a year or so depending if your close to spec. weight. i was and they would throw the tread right off. nothing but sidwall left on rim.

NOW using a MAXIS trailer tire. so far so good. You see these on very large trailers. more belts in tread and sidewall if you change the load range. like d range or e ect.

Went through a lot of tires on the 5th wheel and the cheaper ones lasted about a year or so but the ones twice the money lasted 3 times as long. If your going to be running like you do put some good tires on it and avoid the side of the road night time changes. One time I got some off brand cheap ass tires that Dale had bought, had the correct load rating but wouldn't last more than 150 miles before the sidewall came apart.

10 ply trailer tires are pretty much the heaviest load tire you can get.....

most trailers are sold with 6-8 more likely 6 as they are the cheapest....

trailer manufacturers consider them "starter tires"

I have Carlise 10 ply on mine and we have carried some f ing weight down the road ...heavier than anything you have pulled..

we also can get the maxis trailer tires...they are 8 ply though..

    Just trying to help
