maybe it's time to step back and look around, the bad news sells and attracts attention, but there's a lot going on out there. Much of it that's not noticed by folks that focus on a few areas of drag racing

The ugly:
  • a $90K guaranteed race flops miserably
the bad
  • Our Nat'l series had to discontinue operations
THE GOOD
  • Mirock is stronger than ever and will host their biggest ever event this month
  • AMA's Indy date has been picked up by the No Hatin' series
  • SEMDRA, around for years, has a full season, running along as normal
  • PMRA, around for years,, has a full season, running along as normal
  • 2 Wheel Speed, around for years,, has a full season, running along as normal
  • Hurricane Alley picked up with TXSO left off and is now in it's 4th season
  • MDRA on the west coast expanded by including a Utah race
  • NWDB in the northwest, around for years,, has a full season, running along as normal
  • AHDRA has thirteen 2010 events up from eight in 2009
  • KOTT, around for years, had three events and a fourth is scheduled
  • Lee's performance is hosting their 15th annual event
  • There's some serious, capable people looking at developing a new national series.
  • NDRL has it's inaugural event this month, with a new format and solid racers running it.
  • Companies like Cycle Concepts, Brock's Performance, Spencer, Adams Perfromance, Richies Tires, NLR, Orient Express, MacIntosh, APE, Star Racing, Velocity and on and on are still out there supplying racers with quality parts and services.
  • more events . 10, 20 30 ?
  • more vendors . . 10, 20, 30 ?

Almost everyone can add some local event that shows up every year. A quick guess and I'd say there's over 75 quality drag racing events up in that list alone.
My apologies to Frank for mentioning some non-psychobike series, but this is just a message to the community that may need to step back and put this year into the right perspective.
