90,000 drag race ( promoter response)
Hi everyone, I'm Johnny Gibson with Vulcan Bike Week. We are here at Alabama International Dragway, in Steele, Alabama about 40 miles from Birmingham. AL. The race is a go, we have bikes here test and tuning. The Vulcan Bike Week is something totally seperate from this dragrace. We were forced to cease operations in birmingham for various reasions, and have moved vendors form there to here. This is not a scam, we have been promoting this race too long, and to many people know us in this drag racing community for us to pull a scam. We will be at the track all night and all day tomorrow. We have produced and promoted a show for drag racers that is one of a kind, and dont deserve some of the flack that we have been getting for so long about this race. The money is in steele alabama july 3 2010. if you want a peice of it come and get it, but dont trash, discredit, and disrespect our show. After all, this is the only race that has even offered to give a prize layout that helps racers to the fullest. if you have any questions here is three numbers to call.

Any of these numbers still active? Generally pretty easy to find an associated address (a billing address if it's a cell phone) through a free or an inexpensive internet search...

If it was ,

And saying negative talk about anything .
Then Yall wonder why everyone is getting out of this, it just not making trips anymore.

If I drove 600 miles to a race to find that the purse was anything other that what was posted garanteed, I would be in jail for the night.

Re: 90,000 drag race ( promoter response)
We know that there has be alot of smack said about us with this race. We was promoting this thing for nearly a year and a half. People talked bad about us and didnt even know who we were. Racers out here race for peanuts, and we come alone with something worth racing for and get trashed for it. Yesterday we had two entries into two different contest. 1 mod entry, and one swb entry. NO one else commited to the race reguardless if they were there or not. We gave the guys who entered the contest their money back, and called the race. We shouldnt have to commit to the racers if no one would commit to us. As far as the money that was taken up, me nor my dad made any money at this thing, we left with nothing. When we agreed on the deal to have the race at the track, we agreed that all gate and concessions would be split 50/50, meaning that we DIDNT pay to rent the track, and once the race was got cancelled we didnt get anything, the track owner was in control of everything dealing with the gate. It was not our guys taking money at the gate. That rumor about the 4,000 dollar race was not true. We said either 90,000 or nothing ( because we knew reguardless if we paid 4,000 or 89,000, people would still talk bad about the race) We left and got the money for our tech official, and announcer, and thats all that we owed anyone. As far as our race director, we appointed him over the drag race part of it, not the catering,or vip thing. We knew nothing about any of that. All vip bands that were given for the Vulcan BIke Week was given personally from our hands, not over the internet. His people took up all the money for grudge racing, and all entry fees, and the money never left that blue tent. We never touched it. We simply tried to promote a race, and since none commited to us we called it, and we feel that any other race promoter would have done the same thing. This is the truth behind the race, we didnt take or profit anything. If you have any questions just ask, were being straight up. Were not hinding, because we did nothing wrong to anyone.

Glad to know you're not hiding from anyone because I think the City of Birmingham might be looking for you guys. I'm sure all the local news media would like to speak to you as well. Maybe you can clear this thing up once and for all- just call your local news station and set up a press release explaining your side of the story.
I don't have a dog in this particular fight but your actions surely will hurt the rest of us who might want to promote races in the future.
