Default Shinko Hook-up vs Power One Weight in

Well I stated that I was going to do this in another thread awhile back and finally got enough tires in stock to do it.

This is what MY ups scale read, all in the same day minutes apart. Don't flip out because your scale reads different, I don't care, all I'm looking for is the comparison between the two.

All tires were weight with cardboard bracing out and stickers removed, BARE TIRE ONLY. This is what I got

Average weight for the Shinko = 13.3 LBS

Average weight for the Power One = 13.7 LBS

I have run Michelin's since I started riding. Pilot Powers, Race, 2CT, etc. but after getting my hands on one of these Shinko's pretty sure I found my new favorite tire.
If your not the sharpest tool in the shed, be the biggest f***ing hammer... may not be the cleanest cut, but it still gets the job done.

Post up the weight Richie. You mentioned that you weighed them both at Coby's a few weeks ago.

FOr what it is worth, I weighed a Hook-up vs. MCR2 and the hook-up was 900 grams (~2 lbs) heavier. I don't have the actual numbers since I tared the scale after the MCR2.

Don;t have any P1's to weigh.

We are the Shinko Racer Support Reps and this is pretty much what we showed in the beginning...1/4 to 1/2 pound lighter than a P1

but really doesn't matter the P1 is no where near as soft or has no where near the capability to perform like the Hook Up...

these tires are hooking on the street... also...

I wish you well and good passes with the tire you have choosen.
I'm posting on the topic to let racers know the power one commercial 190-50-17 is no way close the 13 pounds.

    Doug
After i get back from Indy and MIR.I would like to come down to your shop so we can do some test on the Power One and the Drag Radial.

I can't honestly see how there are so many different weights for these tires so here is a pic of both tires weighted 5 seconds apart on the same scale.

Is it just me or does that Shinko look 1.5 times wider than the Power 1? something is not right with those picture if they are supposed to be
    the same size. IMO

Looks like one picture has been taken closer to the tire than the other.
