    Default 6.0 Class (1/8th Mile)

I know some of you that race in this class at events may not share any tips; however, I was wondering what is a realistic ET to have your bike setup to run to be competitive? I know people that run 5.70s yet run that class and sand bag. Seems like to much trouble trying to stay ahead and not break out. Not trying to play the "hit the brakes" game like bracket racing. Too many things can go wrong. I just want to be close and back off/ lower shift points if need be. I am thinking consistent 5.90 bike on motor should be ok? Looking to run that class myself this year at a few events. Any suggestions? Thanks

5.90's is a good setup. gives you a .10 cushion when you go to other tracks that may be slower. Also, allows you to push faster guys to break out. more importantly, cutting a better light is the key
I'd rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6!

UH a 6.00 bike is what i would want. And if you dial your bike right ET racing isn't a hitting the brakes thing. Dont worry what the other dude is doing your job is to cut a light and run the number.

Well when I run the 9.50 class I like having a bike with at least .20 if not .25 in the bank then depending on the weather that day determines how early I short shift to slow up to 9.50

Thanks, that is also what I was wondering. I know everyone does not run the number, lol. Appreciate you sharing that!

Yup...It always helps to have a little on reserve.
