GWizz joins Outer Banks Staff!

I think this will turn out to be great for Outer Banks Speedway and everyone who attends our events!

Not so long ago Outer Banks Speedway was known as a drag strip that mainly ran cars whether they be Pro-Mods, Bracket Cars or Grudge Cars. While having a reputation for being one of the nicest tracks on the East Coast and drawing plenty of cars, we still found ourselves having low bike counts at our events. After trying multiple venues for attracting the bikers, we still weren't quite sure of what the recipe for success was in getting the motorcycle crowd involved.
Being a motorcycle drag racer myself, I had exhausted every option I could think of to get my fellow riders to join us at our events. At this point we knew that we needed to step outside the box and try something different. This came in the form of organizing our first all bike race. To ensure that this move wouldn't be an epic failure, we called on the services of Glenn "GWizz" Allen to help us with the promotion of this event.

Glenn is a guy that I had been friends with for a few years, but never on a professional level. His reputation and deep connections in the motorcycle drag racing community led me to believe that he would be the man for the job. We then approached him and asked him if he would like to host an event at our track. He accepted the challenge and went right to work organizing what went on to be a very successful and fun event for everyone.
After that initial all bike event, we tried to pick up where Glenn left off and began a series of all bike races over the next few years. These races were moderately successful, but started becoming lackluster after a while. While attendance was good, we wanted to be able to offer the racers something more. Again, the first name that came to mind was good ole GWizz.

Being good friends at this point, I called him up right then and asked him what he thought about joining forces again. We talked and negotiated for a while and finally came to the conclusion that he needed to be a part of our motorcycle promotions team. This time around we planned on utilizing his skills for more than just a single event.

After sharing many ideas, Glenn decided to go ahead and take over our first motorcycle event of the 2010 season. With his good business savvy, reputation and likability, Glenn was able to secure a huge list of premier sponsors for the event and turned it into a great success. The racers received over $5000 worth of great prizes, Outer Banks Speedway received a great turnout and Glenn received a permanent position with our motorcycle event promotions.

I would like to be the first to welcome my buddy GWizz to the team as we look forward to many successful all bike events in the future. I know this will be accomplished with his help and our already great facilities and staff.

I appreciate the positive feedback. With all the success we have had with Glenn in the past, it only seemed logical to bring him on as a regular promoter. We are very glad to have him as part of the team and look forward to his insight in all of our future motorcycle events! As a part of this partnership, Glenn will be exclusively promoting for Outer Banks and Outer Banks will solely use Glenn and myself for all future motorcycle promotions.

Great to hear Bobby!! You know it's Funny....I have Never Met you in Person, an Yet I feel like your a Real Good Friend to Me!! That's something NOT easily done on a Key Board. I can only imagine Meeting you Face to Face......You are a Very Professional Person and are ALWAYS Willing to lend a Helping Hand! I know this all soundz Corny as H3LL and I'm "NOT" usually like that but I just think you a good Dude Brother!!!
Gwizz sounds like he Deff Know's how to Bring the Crowd, so in that I Wish you Guys all the Best......Hopefully one of these Days I will be able to get My down to your Track!

Man I really appreciate that. Comments like this mean alot to me and all of my fellow psychobikers. Thats the great thing about this website. You can build true relationships and great friendships with people without ever meeting them in person. We all share a common bond on this site and I hope that one day I will get to put a face to a name for every friend I have made on here. I am by no means a big time racer or very talented, but I do what I can with what God has blessed me with and I appreciate you all that have made my sponsorship on here well worth every penny!
