I thought SFI was suits and helmets are snell and d.o.t..I could be wrong.

Everyone here needs to relax. All Impact products will pass tech in any race orginization. Helmets do not apply to this. Helmets are SNELL not SFI. SFI applies to fire suits, belts,and some other items. So anyone that has any Impact products you are fine. You can still use the stuff, and it will pass tech. Bill Simpson has saved many lives and Impact Racing is going to be fine. SFI has made a big mistake by posting such a thing. Former employees are to blame for this slander and trust me lawyers are in place for Impact Racing to stop this b.s. Bill Simpson has given a lot to the race community and has been the guy that has kept racers from burning to death and surving motorsport related crashes with his belts helmets and fire suits. Why in the world would racers,web-sites and other media groups promote this hate against a man that has done nothing but save lives. It is a true heart breaker to see and hear this.

Yeah, this will affect NHRA a lot more than AMA.

As stated. Helmets are DOT/SNELL. It's the safety belts, fire suits, gloves, boots, etc.

But if you notice, about 1/2(if not more) the NHRA field wears Impact of some kind. Probably affects quite a few NASCAR/INDY guys too.

Yes Impact is Bill Simpson. All of that split and force out crap happened after the Dale Earnhardt stuff started flying around with the crash, and did the belts fail, yada, yada, yada.

hell no the belts didnt fail...DE was my man but his dumb azz refused to wear a closed helmet and a hans device...it had NOTHING to do with bill simpson, and everything with DE's improper use of his equipment.

i very highly doubt this will hold up, once a product is cerified, it shouldnt make a damn where the tags come from. you pay for the certification, and SFI tries to put a monopoly on you with the tags..thats bs...Bill Simpson should start his own certfication business and tell them where to shove it.
