well i'm hooked. I ran mt's for years and ran a dragteck i got from doug years ago and this tire is on par with both.

I was leaving off a 2 step and a button all weekend and I can promise if it was a micky i would need a new tire soon. The tire works and will last. My tire looks new..........

i think comparing tire weights is only valid if you're weighing the comparable tires on the same scale. if you weigh 2 different tires the weights for each may be different if you do it on 2 or 3 different scales. i would think the difference in the weights between the 2 comparable tires should be about the same from scale to scale though.

Interesting thread. Got mine in the mail last night. Could weight it as I have very accurate scale, but as an engineer, I have to point out that there are manufacturing tolerances on every single thing made on this planet. Weighing a random sampling of one isn't going to tell you anything.

If this is to be settled, you need to weigh a bunch of each. Then you will have enough info to know the average, high and low weight of each. Knowing high and low will also give insite into which company has better control of thier manufacturing process. Only people that could realistically do this would be the dealers or distributors.

In the end, just sit back and watch the season develop, or buy one and see how you like it. Who went quickest in a single race may or may not be related to the tire

I was saying that he weighed it and a worn out u-soft on the same scale at the same time and the hook up was 2 lbs lighter.

If it will help any I'm waiting for a shipment of 14 Hook-ups and I believe 6 or 7 Power Ones to come in. Once here I will use our UPS scale, have the second customer to come in that day (just to keep it random) pick 5 Power ones and 5 Hook-ups and I will weight all on the same scale seconds apart and get an average of both.

Sounds like a good idea. I still don't think most will significantly tell the difference from 2 lbs though.

I'm just waiting for the markup to go away. Imagine how hard it will be to get them once they drop down to what they're supposed to cost.

What there supposed to cost? What do you mean? There selling for at or less than the manufacturers suggested price its a good tire alot of people are already buying them and as more people try and like them demand will increase so why sell them for less? I wouldnt wait for the price to go down. If you like this tire buy it and enjoy the performance/grip

I would of tried one for my next tire if they could be used for the street. Unfortunatly they will wear too quickly for street riding so its either a dragtec or u soft or one of the michelins for me......
Great thread lots of good info and i think for a drag only tire this may be as good as it gets especially for the money.

Unfortunately I have to work..I'm not taking time off of work to race this year. Gotta think like a grown man. (Work before play)

I will be out there after work though. I can support the event that way
