Re: any word on the "hook up" at valdosta?
lets get something straight here...the tire isnt 2 lbs heavier than a p1...not at all....
it never ceases to amaze me how many people read past something and drawing conclusions...
bottom line is what i just said...more people will be on this tire than any other tire...like i said the work is done..foundation has be laid...
those that want to knock the tire will...those that are in "the know" will run it and win with it and be faster than they have ever been...and not go broke buying one...it has been very amusing to see how many have turned and jumped fences this year after talking soooo much smack about Shinko tires...even after the domination that was thrown all over everyone last year....... and now are all over this like green on a Kawasaki...lol

i wasn't jumping to conclusions about the tire..im sure it works and works well. i was objecting to richies statement that 2 pounds doesnt matter.

the weight difference between the two is less than a pound with the power one being lighter.I will say the Shinko did good it's first time out in competition But the power one did resets it's own et record with the same team .from a 7.15 to 7.12.

bottom line is it works! IT HOOKS! and IT LAST! AND IT IS NOT EXPENSIVE TO GET ONE!
Ritchie...
you make it sound like its a long time...lets get real here...duro the tires and you can see which one is softer compound.. the track was cold...i can go and get the tape of the burnouts and compare...we were streaming the race the whole weekend... burn outs dont concern me...longevity and duro readings at the line is what i look for...along with temps
when the clutch is figured out on this Real Street bike...everyone one gonna be crying like they were after the 2nd round of qualifying...
congrats on Rickey winning he was on his game....the work and foundation has been laid...it is now up to the racers to build the rest...and this will happen will this tire is out to all dealers on a mass scale...
man you must have been really busy with the dragbikelive thing .i didnt see you all weekend...
I HAVE NO ILL WILL TOWARD YOU OR EVERY OTHER TIRE VENDOR.
Racers are going to run what they want to .Unless someone is just giving tires away.
So you going to be around tomorrow. If so i'll swing by.

Richie or anyone else. Please take a NEW Power 1 with teh sticker still on it to a US post office near you and weigh it and post the actual weight of a new P1.
As mentioned, I did this with the hook up and it was 12 lbs 14.5 oz with teh sticker still on it.
I personally think only top rate bikes and riders will consistently see a difference of 1-2 lbs on a tire.

Re: any word on the "hook up" at valdosta?
dad's hook up got shipped to my house on an accident and when I took it to usps to send it to him they weighed it at 10.8 lbs on their scale... Maybe I got a pre-production? Dad said that on his digital fish scale it weighed 2 lbs less than his worn to the belts u-soft.
