This is a discussion about Custom fabricated chassies within the Staging Lanes section, where you will It All Starts Here! Bench Racing with Drag Race Discussion; I am wondering if there is any one that has fabricated there own frame on here? Or if there are some frame builders willing to share some info? Question Custom fabricated chassies

A buddy local that fabricates street bike frames. Has a interest in doing a sportsman frame for my VRod power plant. He tends to go thick on his tubing thickness calculations. Anyone know what thickness tubing for back bone, frame rail, trellis, etc. for cro moly drag bike frame?
He is slow right now and his frame machine hasen't been used in awhile. I can go fast and help the economy!

I know you're looking for info from site sponsors but i'll put this out to you anyway in case no one responds. Go to the old Stripbike website. There's a long thread by the infamous Puppet on dragbike chassis building and set ups.

Sounds like it would be worth checking out. Thanks for all the responses. Any pictures of some custom made chassies?

1.125-.058/4130 if 2 tubes are used for backbone.
2-.065/4130 or stainless if fuel tank is the backbone.
Min for any load rail should be 1-.058/4130

Heck, just get Marion at the FBR shop to hook you up with a new chassis. Its what they do and do it well. Not sure about being a site sponsor but they do support the Mirock Series!!!
