East coast had a pro tree bracket series quite a while ago called the quick motorcycle shootout. That was fun racing like that. It was one hell of a series with Wacky Al Deveres as the founder and the promotor. Had a good number of bikes and the payout was killer.
I have always been for pro ET to be run on a pro tree.

All the bracket races on the west coast do a pro tree. I hate .500 trees

I raced my car in a class similar to this , its called open comp. The only flaw I saw was if you had to run a really slow car. Seems like i sit there forever on the trans brake running a slower car, my 9.50 to his 16.00. I would try to count before I went on the brake, but never was consistant. If you can keep the gap pretty close, it should be good idea.

the only time i bracket raced on a pro tree was at the first NO HATIN race at kil kare in dayton.it was fun but i think it gives an advantage to the slower bike.it sure was hard to sit there while the other guy goes down the track but maybe with some practice that might not be the case.

New England dragway has had a class like that for several years. They call it Top Bike. Its mostly a bar bike class. If you live up this way and want to race against so real good bracket racers you should try it. Several of the guys are Ama top gas winners and ther are two former NHRA pro stock racers in the class.
Thanks to all of you who are and have defended or freedom.

Not really if the top bulb is open. The slower bike has the advantage on a pro tree bracket race. The other person hears the noise of the person leaving. We tried this at 2wheelspeed.

Shute the slower bike has the advantage! I better go get my bike back from the shop! I was trying to make it faster!

as long as you're consistent running your number, the slower bike has no advantage. The problem I have out here on the left coast is that I catch myself breaking out running slower bikes down. Lately i've just been dialing my fastest time ever and if i break out i'm happy lol.

You gettin itchy there Kevin, can't wait to get back on the bike myself.
Pro tree is a good idea just don't know how the bracket part is going to work, the 9.20 class worked great @ are track day, really I think that class would draw a lot of bikes and not have to dump a bunch of money into a stock 14 or Busa.

I'm glad i don't live on the left coast. The advantage would always go to the slower bike. Not to mention the issues with sitting on the two step forever if you're the quicker bike. It might be fun to some but i see nothing practical about this idea. Heck, not even the car guys on the left coast run brackets this way.
