Tire's
This is a discussion about Tire's within the Staging Lanes section, where you will It All Starts Here!
Bench Racing with Drag Race Discussion; When mounting new tire's for the strip should they be balanced. I had a person tell me they did not have to be balanced, just dont seem correct to me. Any truth to that ?

Ive always balanced the front but never the rear because with a bike with some power if you chalk the tire and wheel with one pass you will see ur marks move therefore u will not be balanced, but honestly ive never noticed any vibration from not balancing the rear.

Re: Tire's
I balance both on ALL my bikes. I got this off of Schnitz's website just my 2 cents
Do dragbikes need to balance their wheels? YES! All wheels need to be balanced no matter what their use. Street or Strip. DOT or Slick. An out-of-balance tire and wheel will typically create a vibration or shake that becomes progressively worse as speed increases. The speed at which the vibration first becomes apparent will vary depending on the size and weight of the tire and wheel, the weight of the motorcycle, the sensitivity of the suspension, and the amount of imbalance. The vibration or shake usually starts in at 40 to 50 mph and increases in intensity as the speed increases.
