    Default Engine assembly

    Hi guys.
Blew head gasket on my build. Sent the head and block for decking.
Took .010" off the head and .010" off the block.

My question is : Do i have to shorten the dowels between the block & the head before reassembly?

    (before gasket failure @ 6400rpm it has 90hp & 75lbs/tq @ 11.55:1CR)
    1117 / RF9 head / GSXR-750 cams / 12.55:1 CR

    Thanks
    Martin

measure with calipers, dowel length needs to be less than depth of hole 1 and 2 and gasket thickness.
