gs or gsxr? i know gs motors you can block the oil holes...have to block the holes in the head also....set screws work the best....think gsxr is the same....use a good top end oiler and you should be good

Re: 1100 Oil Cooled Question...
It is a GSXR, and I have a Top End Oiler as well... Just was looking at the block and it doesn't have any recess for the rubber oil o-rings on it. So I assuming that by what Mopdog is saying, I have to block off those holes in the cases... Now on the head, you said there is oil holes that I have to block off too?

Re: 1100 Oil Cooled Question...
follow the oil holes you block off in the case up to the head and block thoses also...if you dont oil will drain down from the head into the block and nowhere for it to go cause you blocked the hole, the passage will fill and sit there ...its called dry block....just make sure you block the correct holes...set screws work best but just alittle treads with a tap and some loctite

Re: 1100 Oil Cooled Question...
Oh yeah, I blocked off the passage way at the case studs with set screws and loctite, but I kinda already have the head torqued and the cams in... (Guess I am STILL getting ahead of myself!!) Is the oil that would be sitting in the passage way going to cause any drama?

Re: 1100 Oil Cooled Question...
NOPE!!! My luck is not that good...(lol) I started the bike today, and it fired right up sounding Very Strong BUT as I let the motor get some temp in it, then here come the leaks!!!! I looked at another head that I have sitting here and see that there are 4 oil passages at each coner stud in the head. So I wiil be pulling the head back off and plug those up too... ****, guess I have to go through the BS now as I am putting this togehter huh...

Re: 1100 Oil Cooled Question...
Alright, got all the leaks taking care of and the motor is STRONG!!! But I seem to be having a problem with EXCESSIVE oil blowing out of the breather... I have a catch can but the oil seems to blow out of the breather hole of that too!! I tried sealing all the breather holes of the catch can but when I do that, the crank case pressure pushes oil out of the seals of the all the motor covers=(clutch cover, timing cover...)
Does anyone have any suggestion here?

Re: 1100 Oil Cooled Question...
How much oil are you running? should have 3 quarts, no more than 3.5 quarts. if you have too much init it will blow out

X2. Sounds like you've got the rings on the pistons wrong. Did you stagger them per specs on the ring package??????? You're building pressure inside the crankcase. The only place that type of pressure could be coming from is the top end of the motor- somehow you've created a path. A leak down will tell you if its pushing pass the rings or elsewhere.
Good luck- i don't think its as bad as you think. Just disassemble, realign and reinstall
