busa rods

This is a discussion about busa rods within the Old School Bikes section, where you will Nobody gets left out with this forum; I thought I saw on here at one time that you can run busa rods in an oil cooled motor what is the difference anyone know what im getting at is I have some oil

    I thought I saw on here at one time that you can run busa rods in an oil cooled motor what is the difference anyone know what im getting at is I have some oil cooled corillo rods laying around and was wondering if they would work in my busa

    they should work but o/c rods are shorter than busa rods.

    Yes I believe this is true. I had a set of Crower Oil Cooled Rods that we used in a stroker motor. They worked fine and we didnt have to use a spacer plate.

    so it would just lower the compression on a gen 1 stock crank if I were to use them ????

    So, if you have a 5mm stroker in a w/c gixxer, Busa rods would bolt on in?

    yea it should work the same as a oilcooled but with the stroker crank your pistons would come out of the cylinders.

    NO, you would want to put stock busa rods on a stock w/c 1100 crank...that would make the stroke longer, increasing compress and making more HP.

    Stroke stays the same no matter how long the rods are..
