Tach Gear Help on a GS1000/GS1100

This is a discussion about Tach Gear Help on a GS1000/GS1100 within the Old School Bikes section, where you will Nobody gets left out with this forum; How do you get the tach gear out of the head. (the part that spins off the exhaust cam). Ive taken the bolt going thru the front of the head, out thinking it would just

    Default Tach Gear Help on a GS1000/GS1100

    How do you get the tach gear out of the head. (the part that spins off the exhaust cam). Ive taken the bolt going thru the front of the head, out thinking it would just slide right out, but its not. Is there some thing else keeping it from coming out ? ? ?

    Should be just an O ring for a seal. they do fit pretty tight in the hole.

    Just use a screwdriver in the slot while prying up.
