Does anyone have pics of any GS1000s or 1100s? If so please post. I have a '78 GS1000 with a blown clutch basket and would like to know if I could throw in a GS1100 motor and what kind of swingarm I could use to upgrade to a wider more modern wheel?

I think a 1100 and 1150 motor will fit right in that chassis. Unsure of the clutch basket.

Clutch baskets are different, but complete 1100 or 1150 motor will fit right in. . . The oil-cooled 1100 gsxr motor will fit with fabbed front brackets. Swing arms, KZ arms, will bolt up.... Gsxr arm will need shim spacers, and reducers tabs fabbed for the mono shock if you go that route. . . .

Like was said only mod is the lower mounts under the motor don't line up. You need to fab a couple of dog leg brackets to line the motor holes up with the frame holes. 10 minutes to make each if you have no skills

hey guys, I have an 81 GS1100, we are currently running the dual drag shocks on the bike, but we are wanting to run the mono shock setup without going broke, I just saw the custom fab work that you did Gilmoses, and I was wondering if you could give more detail on how you made the brackets and the overall process. I have a welder and the tools to do the fab work, I just need a more detailed description of the whole procedure, feel free to give me a call at 601-467-8432 John. iF anyone else has any helpful tips, I am all ears.

Actually Terry McIntosh did the work. . . He's a Site Sponsor.

I'm no welder, so I wouldn't know where to start doing this. . . . My set-up was done for an oil-cooled gsxr arm. . . If I had to do it again, I would set it up for a Busa/1000 arm, just because there is a larger selection of arms out there for a Busa . . .
