Yes it hurts alot on the performance

    It is a huge improvement swapping to a 1100 head on a 750 .

They used sling shot heads , and they usually ported the piss outta them. Also alot of them got the old tried and true 31 26 valve set up.

The gsxr 750 heads on most of the bikes were not that good , compared to 1100 heads.

You want that water cooled to run ,1145 piston set, and get a good port job by someone who knows water cools, on the 1100 head , shot peaned stock rods with new bolts , and degree the stock cams,a spring kit and retainers.

No blown head gaskets ,stock reliability, no cam problems, add a shot of gass and you will give most street busas a fit. Not out run everything, but it shure is fun to scare the crap outta them when they just cant run off and hide from you any more.

I don't know about the water cooled specs, but, I still currently own a '91 1127 with a slingshot head also known as the "dot" head because of a dime sized circle incorporated in the side fins of the head. Being a owner of the 750 since '89, I finally decided to upgrade to the 1100 engine. I wasn't a fan at first because the rev's were slower compared to the 750. I had read about the head swap and decided give it a shot. Being that I rode the 11 before the swap, I can tell you that it was night and day. first off, the valves are the same, no loss there. Second, the intake ports are angled for a straighter shot into the combustion area. And last but not least, I should have mentioned first actually, the compression ratio is bumped up to something like 12:1 from 10:1. While I was at it, I degreed my cams which are stock and I have a dyna 2000 ignition.
So if the watercooled 750 can fit on a 11 block, I think the results should be the same. Again, I don't have much knowledge of watercooled specs.

Years ago, the road race guys used to put the 1100 motor in the 750 chassis. In order to make it fit, they had to use the RF900 head.

    Ok

Not to start a fight but a rf head will not, i repeat will not fit in a gsxr frame if you plan on putting on carbs .

The carbs will not fit between the frame and the head.

I have three rf 900 heads from this because you can pick up a rf motor for nothing.Bolt a gsxr head on and put it into a gsxr 750 or 600 for nice little cheap upgrade.Buy the way ill take 250.00 each for these heads. Just in case some ones looking for one.

We use the rf 900 bottom end and the gsxr 750 or 1100 head.

So you can put thye rf motor into a gsxr frame.

Next all of the water cooled gsxr frames will accept 600 750 1100 motors will fit anyway up or down. They are not smaller or different size in the cradle just in the tail sections and foot peg boltons.

The hot set up in the early 1990's was to buy a gsxr 600 water cooled and put a gsxr 1100 water cooled motor strait into it.

The rf head is full on down draft.

You can put a gsxr motor in a rf frame cause it is a perimeter style frame, and the carbs are semi down draft. Witch means that you wont have any frame or tank clearance problems.
