Default GSXR / Bandit Interchange Questions

I've moved this topic from garage sale to here. Well, here are my options. I can buy a set of 1999 Bandit 1200 cases, with crank, and put my old 1127 block on for now. I'm assuming I would need to change my cam sprockets to accomidate the hi-vo chain, and swap the top end idler? Also, I have an opportunity to trade my 38 Lectrons straight across for a set of 40's. Are 40's too big for an 1127? Was hoping to run them until I can get another big block.

Also, the Bandit oil pan looks completely different, but will my GSXR oil pan bolt up?

    Thanks

Do I need to install a different cam idler and cam sprockets because of the hi-vo chain? I heard that a different valve cover may also be needed. Thanks for your help.

Yes, you need to run the idler and sprockets for the type of chain you are using. The valve cover can be used either way, but i believe you need to swap out a few things underneath thats specific to the type of chain you are running.
IIRC, you also need to change out the chain slippers as they are chain specific(Hivo vs roller)

you need to drill two holes in the valve cover so you can bolt the top chain guide to the valve cover
