Nos or not on a pst?

This is a discussion about Nos or not on a pst? within the Pro StreetBike section, where you will Pro StreetBike Racing Enthusiast; everyone keeps saying they can run less boost with nos and save motors. But i bet they would still run 30+ psi with nos . class has a bunch of bikes why mess with it?

The way I see and as well as some of the other guys that race this class that have called and asked about this subject see it is they are not looking to be able to put 4 nozzles in the cylinder or put one nozzle in the plenum or be able to spray a 100hp of nitrous along with the turbo...What they are proposing is being able to put a single nozzle in the charge tube very close to the turbo like you do a water injection system and be able to use a .015"-.020" jet...The little bit I know about nitrous and how critical nozzle placement is, I know that a .020" jet being that vary from the plenum/intake is not gonna add enough power to make a difference but it would still be a fairly effective as a intercooler by removing some heat out of the charge...there are guys pushing upwards of 35 lbs of boost to try and keep up with the front runners and this poses some issues for them and the organization(s)..the racers are gonna break parts at that level of performance and they are gonna break them on the track...this creates down time for the organization and financial burdens for racers that want to compete but don't have sponsors, own their own business,etc...Those that like a/a intercoolers will build a/a intercooler..those that like l/a will do the same..If the rule is written correctly and well thought out it will not give anybody an advantage...This is a very inexpensive alternative to some of the more expensive forms of intercooling...it's something to think about..take the blinders off and think about the future of the class and the people that will be supporting the class...

    Scary stuff right there.

I guess instead of "any type of intercooling allowed", it could read "no type of intercooling allowed"

What would you guys do if no intercooling was allowed? What if?

Would you still race AMA? Would you still support?

I say spray the hell out of it, as much as you want on top of turbo....but to do so you must run buy 93 octane pump gas from AMA dragbike for $14.99 a gallon and use it as your only fuel source..

I ONLY ASK CAUSE PEOPLE KEEP COMING UP HERE SAYING DONT CHANGE THE RULES ITS GONNA HURT THE CLASS..WHO DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO IMPLEMENT A RULE CHANGE...I CAN REMEMBER NOT SO LONG AGO PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SLIDER CLUTCHES
BUT THEY WERE ALLOWED..AND IN THE END IT MADE THE CLASS FASTER AND MORE FUN TOO WATCH OR KEEP UP WITH..THERE WILL ALWAYS BE RULE CHANGES ESPECIALLY WHEN INNOVATORS ARE TRYING TO RACE AND PROMOTE THERE BUSINESS .....GET USE TOO IT....TONY

The headlight rule change made people put full lights back on their stuff. It didnt open up the rules more like nitrous. Big difference.

A sure way to kill a class is to change the rules. People will sit back and wait before building bikes, instead of building to the current rules. Over time people will adjust and do what they need to keep up.

Change the rules and you will kill off the class, just like Outlaw.

I had a non-intercooled bike and then spent the time and money to put a cooler on it. Now there is talk about opening it up for others that dont want to go through the effort. Thats bad form right there. Now I have a heavier bike when I could have just waited and see what happened with "potential changes". That is just plain wrong. If you want cooler intake temps, put a cooler on it and be done with it.

Nobody is saying blow your stuff up and stay home broke. Just put a cooler on it like the rest of us if heat is the problem.

I have a nitrous Pro Street bike in the mix for 2010, and its insane to think it might have to keep up with 685 lb. nitrous/turbo bikes.

Next year it looks like there is going to be 6-10 new nitrous Pro Street bikes out there. Don't do those guys wrong by giving their power adder to a turbo bike too.

    WRONG!!!!!!

The headlight rule always stated that you had to have a full functioning light...It was changed because there were teams like yourself that didn't bother to read the rule book before you built your cooler up front..point blank!!!
