I got the go ahead, but I have to move the intercooler back 1.25 inches to clear the low beam housing, that I wasnt planning on running originally. So all the mounts and brackets have to be re-done and the charge pipes must be modified.

But at least it can all be fixed so I can race at AMA also.

Not at all brother, go ahead and do it. I really think its a better set-up than running the coolers out in the wind, and I think this looks tricker (no dis-respect to Seb or Keith). Its just to each their own, and I think this is the better set-up. Go ahead and do it, the cool thing is you won't need to re-do your header, exhuast, or compressor cover. Just some new charge pipes and build your cooler. I bought this cooler core from Bell, and had DME build the end tanks and make all the charge pipes, and spent like $950 on Adel Wiggins clamps alone

No disrespect to Jason but he did it for looks rather than function. The idea for an air to air intercooler is to be in the most DIRECT AIRFLOW possible to maximize air temp reduction which is why we put them on in the first place.
Putting it in back of the headlight looses 70 percent of the surface area to direct airflow. The best place for an air to air intercooler is as he said " Out In the Wind " where airflow can flow thru and around the core stripping the heat out of it. Cant wait to see the ducting that seals it off!

As he said....to each his own and its his bike and engine . We will see what the data shows in air temps. Im glad he has an intercooler on there period!

Jason its hot. You can come down to the Lunch box any time and get your work on. The Big blue machines need some work. I like it. Don't let me get my hands on a Busa or a 14..... I still have a whole book of tricks.

Jason (and others). There is a new-ish clamp put that is similar to the Adel Wiggins clamp made by Hargett Precision Products (not an offshore knockoff). Some of the car guys are starting to use them for cold side piping. They are much cheaper than the Wiggins, but they are not rated at the extreme pressures, "only" to 125 psi at full angular offset, 250 psi straight with over 500 psi burst per their claims.

I have not personally used them, but something to consider for future. May be able to save a few hundred on clamps.

    - Hargett Precision Products

Pegasus Racing aslo sells them, among other vendors I am sure.

Frank, if listing the companies is a problem, feel free to delete them.

So Jason, how much of the low beam housing do you have to keep for AMA? Does it have to be the full enclosure and does the headlight lens have to be fully intact? My idea was to have a set up similar to my outlaw bike, still utilizing the headlight housing with high beam only. The bike I run right now has the back side of the low beam housing cut out and you can see right through to the battey box. Is that illegal per the current rules?
