hahaha.
i mean i get the rule, and the interpetation, but why would they say, all lights that work with the low beam must be on, if they didnt want to mandate you running a low beam? cuz technically a lowbeam is always on...the rule could be clearer, all they would have to say is
a stock head light (from that bike) must be used with only modifactions to the mounting points, and no modifications to the housing. One beam must function. if bike has left/right lights, both must be illuminated by either high or low beam.
thats a hell of alot clearer than what they have... and if they want you to run all the other lights (parking etc) all they would have to say is all auxillary lights that are factory must be illuminated (excluding blinkers)
The rule doesnt say that all lights that work with the low beam must be on.
HEADLIGHTS: Factory headlight systems matching the bike model must be used. All of the original factory glass or plastic lenses must be used, may not be painted or wrapped, and must be mounted in the original location in the front fairing (or headlight bucket on non-faired bikes). Non-fairing bikes must have the headlight bucket mounted in factory location. All components which are part of the original beam generating and reflecting system, and are visible from the outside of the bodywork, must be retained, and may not be modified in any manner visible from the outside. These components include reflectors, secondary lenses, diffusers, bulb sockets, and bulbs. All such components of both the low-beam and high-beam systems must be retained, even if that system is not in use. Required components may be mounted in any suitable manner. Any modification of the mounts, housing, or non-visible areas of the lenses, reflectors, and other required components is permitted. However, lighting system must be enclosed to prevent the escape of light from behind the fairing or bucket.
During competition, either the low-beam or high-beam lights must be on at all times. Bikes factory-equipped with multiple-light systems (i.e. left and right bulbs) must burn both the left and right bulbs of the system being used. Unused bulbs do not need to be electrically functional, and a high/low switching system is not required.
