Looking for confirmation from someone that has done it...is the process/method the same as the Busa? Going to do my 08 ZX-10 this winter, just wondering if it is going to be the same or not.

Nothing like the busa and its very easy! If you cut 3in you will need to cut the inner tube if you still want suspension travel. If you do not cut the inner tube the forks will bottom out on the inside after about a 1/2 in, I promise you wont bust any more oil pans though. Disassemble the cartridge, remove the spring and seat, cut from this end (see pic) , and just replace spring and seat. I made a spring compressor out of a C clamp, I welded two bolts on it and used a ratchet strap. The other pic is my bike with the forks cut 3in and flush with the triple tree. 3in is too much I'm 140lbs and they bottom out pretty quick and kills the streetabilty. You could go 2in or 2.5 and still have some suspension.

Thanks Brandon. So just take 2.5" off the spring seat and I'm good to go. I did want to go 3" as the bike is drag only now, but rules require 1" of front travel so I'll have to go 2.5" and slide them through the trees again.
