you'll have that no matter what if you consider small motors the 1572. under riches rules theres no way a 1397 or 1441 could be competitive. Thats the thing I like about the 2.62 rule it could open up a lot of different options for different riders.

and under the proposed MIR rules carbs are allowed so a full blown 380lb bike doesn't seem unrealistic.

the lighter rider will always have an advantage unless he has a vest on..simple physics..hold a 20lb weigh straight out in front of you and see how long u can hold it..then drop it by your side and see how long...if a light rider can add weight anywhere, he is goign to rule the class. I have seen bikes add 30lbs of ballast up front and run faster than without it...

i agree with you on most of this, except i dont think it will ever be a riders class. 75" wheelbase with the size motors we are talking, and a minimum weight will be a lock wide open and go style of class. in my opinion.......

and the only price difference between a 1570 and a 1441 is the price of the crank.

but yes, heads up racing costs what it costs! its not for everybody

what I mean by riders class is light rider, big motor and add weight where they can use it to be beneficial...Not a hand clutch riders class...And I would disagree with you on the only difference between the two combo is the crank..getting the displacement, yes you are correct..but the 1570 can use a much better cylinder head when compared to the 1441 and that alone can be ALOT!

The spectator will have no idea what size engine the bikes have with the 2.62 rule.

The thing about the 2.62 rule is a mid weight can get on 1000 with 5×6 and you don't want that

I know what you're thinking. But it really ain't what people think. Most of you are using theory with that kind of thinking. If that was the case, the only the lighter guys in prostock would dominate. Hector Arana jr is heavier than his dad, but he beats up on his dad alot. And we are talking about the same thing here. Bike and rider combo.

you wont know what size motors are in either class. You will assume the 560lbs group will be 1572's but you wont know unless they tell you. the big guys the sky's the limit for them

if you want to showcase just a motor then have a 1441 class, a 1507 class, a 1572 class etc etc

No No No!!! Rich's rules are fine. 1 class. If one of the weight classes is running away with it, just add weight to slow them down. That's it. Just like they do in Pro stock.

both sets of rules have there pros and cons but the 2.62 rule with my set up i would be running a 1441 ok and the heavy guy with my same chassis nothing fancy would be 15??? so they would have more cc than the light guys so the only thing i see wrong is the 1k guys as in heavy rider on 1k maxed out but from what i have seen there not slow. so my question is this rich has a min wieght and can go xbig mir has a 2.62 to cc limit these bikes might be a little slower overall but seems to level it out a bit more . tech seems like it would be harder but if you get a rider on a small set up running over people then they can see if there plain fast or cheating. i am not for carbs or standalones but i can get passed all that because there still limited by fuel and wieght . i am wanting this class to happen and planning on being apart of it but either way i am going with what i got and spend my$$ on track time and just see how fast i can go with out all the crazy stuff and hopefully it will just make it down the track.
