    Default 06 zx14 174 hp????????

I just took my 06 zx14 to the dyno today, bike has a power commander, secondary buterflies removed, Yoshimura r22 full exhaust, and tre, used 93 octane pump gas. The bike dynoed at 174 hp and 102 ft lb of torque. Are these numbers about where they should be or should they be higher?
    Thanks.

about right ,it all depends on the dyno,a little more a little less, a better exhaust would make a little more.

Since I've heard of the same bike making 15% difference in power on two different dyno's within hours of each other I take numbers I hear with a grain of salt now. I'd rather hear track numbers with weather conditions (DA especially) to tell whether or not a bike is making power like it should. What do you run at the track?

My '08 with PC3, pump gas, and Brocks CT Meg made 174hp. Dyno numbers are just that, numbers. Dynos are only good for tuning really, and hell that is just a baseline, most people will tweak the map at the track anyway.

Those numbers sound about average, do you have any other bikes from the same day and same dyno to compare it to? Why are you using 93 octane?

The lowest octane rating you can as long as the bike is not "pinging".

I run 87 and I've got increased compression ratio vs stock. It pings at cold start up. Cecil didn't work too much on my pump gas map but we've still trapped 126.5 in the 1/8th on the pump gas tune and ethanol blended 87 in the tank. Mine showed 195 or so on the pump gas tune at Cecil's but keep in mind, that's just a number and it would only have made 170ish on another reputable tuner's stingy dyno.

You know whats crazy, and all things aside these are ALL very respectable numbers and times.. Is that the new 2012 zx14r puts down 195 BHP STOCK!!!! This is truely remarkable for all of us in the drag racing worl and just think Kawasaki DOES have 4 different patents on a supercharged bike

I switched to 87 pump gas and to a brock's short meg and the bike made 180 hp and 105 tq. Planning on getting some 47mm tb.

U really should be using 89 octane ,u could detonate the pistons and ruin a motor with 87 esp if u get some bad 87 gas.
