This is a discussion about Question ZX14 Engine Builders within the Kawasaki ZX12R-ZX14 section, where you will Kawasaki Kings of street and strip; Is the 08-09 ZX14 lower end of motor to include crank, pistons, trans, rods, clutch basket & everything else in the shortblock the same as 06-07. Can you take the 06 head & put it

Is the 08-09 ZX14 lower end of motor to include crank, pistons, trans, rods, clutch basket & everything else in the shortblock the same as 06-07. Can you take the 06 head & put it on an 09 block & use it on an 06 Frame.

An 06-07 crankshaft and clutch basket are different than that in an 08 up. The gear on the back of the clutch basket aren't even close to being the same so there fore the gear on the crank has to be different.
