    Default Stock 08 ZX14 dissapointing

We purchased a 2008 ZX-14 last December. It only had 1,000 miles so had really never been ridden. And never raced. So the best time we could muster this race season was 9.94 at 138 mph with a hook-up tire, airshifter, autoshift, and lowered strut on back. Removed the cat from exhaust. After reading all the stories about stock bikes going low to mid 9's, i have decided a lot of people might be lying about their machine being stock or I have the only slow one on the planet. I want to go fast!!!!! Will be adding swingarm and a 26" tall slick. Possible new frame too to stabalize this wild bucking slow horse. Am I wrong or is this what they run? Thanks. ps - bike and rider = 780 lbs. My old bike runs 9.2's and again- I really want to go FASSSTTTTT!!!

Give us a run down of your short times. Sounds like a slow 60' to me.

Must be the rider. not being funny but the 14's run low nine's all day short and high 8.80's with an arm and bolt on's with good tune. Show your ticket and you will get good feed back.

First lose the strut and get the shock set up, no wonder it bucks. What's your wheelbase? 16- 53? really or is that a typo. stock motor on pump gas with a street meg I run 8.98 to 9.0s all day with 1.37 60 foots at 67 inches and 16 45 gearing at 150 mph, 5.74 1/8th mile

stock wheelbase also wheelie bar, could be spining, but carries front tire about 300 ft. unless it gets out groove then sideways. still fun to rideand its nice to be a one man operation.

Throw that strut and wheelie bar in the trash, get a good setup shock or even stock shock for that matter..Ive went 1.51 60' with a 3.97 330' on stock arm with stock shock, and -1tooth down in the rear...That crazy gearing, strut and wheelie bar is killing that bike!

Exactly! unless you have a major problem power is the last thing you should be worried about.

That mph through the 660' is terrible. Should be around 120.
