Stock 08 ZX14 dissapointing

Wheelie bar kills MPH if that's how he ran the bike. My old ZX11 lost almost 5 MPH dragging one of those silly things down the track.

At the weight you're carrying, you'll never be able to run better than 5.92 @ 119 and 9.32 @ 146 with a stock motor, that's if you have everything lined up. Get rid of the wheelie bar, get a 70 inch swing arm, gearing should be at least 16/48 or the equivalent of something else, for your weight you need to be leaving at least 9000, learn how to use the clutch, leave the wheelie bar at home.

sh!t along with ditchin the wheelie bars and strut, get rid of that auto shift, i bet no questions asked, that its short shifting every shift. rev it up.

ill post this all day long 9.20 with 1.41 60 ft. 147mph, out the box stock motor, ext blocks, 16- 41 gear, foot shifting, muzzy m10 with a pc3 downloaded map! so 08 dont have power problems,

my friends stock wheelbase 08 14 foot shifting, geared 1 tooth down from stock, lowered and a fiberglass seat is going 9.2X's all day long, on pump gas.

motor is unopened, just bolt ons. bike has still more potential with unopened motor...feels like 9,3s should be managable.

08 is off streat not lowerd no pipe nothing outher then muzzy timing advancer , 09 has Brock's ct pipe pc5 super sport head lower front and rear and geard 17-40 extended ecu . Bike went 8.8 but no me driving

wheelie bar stays till it feels better, auto shift works fine, have tried shifting from 9,800-10,800 . 10,200 putsme in 6th gear about 30 ft. before 1/4 finish line, geared 16-53 or 17-53. i put a catalyst seat for last race. it did help. 1st pass ever was10.6 4th pass was 10.2 all stock. next was wheelie bar and 16-45, went 10.05. next was 17-53 went 9.94@136mph was my last run. with 1.55 60ft 6.3at 110mph 1/8.

iknow that when 60 ft gets down to 1.25 or 1.30s it will run 9.5s or better. I quit racing for 15 years,decided to tried again before i get to old. retired last year. seems i forgot a lot. but getting better. I am sure it has enough power for mid 9s and a one man operation without draging starter cart around. never took time to learn to slip clutch since everyone ran wheelie bars. no more testing this year,need to deside on 10 over arm or make new frame, 7" or 10"tire. and maybe after market header.

I don't understand how a wheelie bar bike cuts a slower 60' than a SWB non bar bike. Also still can't get over how that mph is 10 off what it should be. Are you sure that bike is healthy?

i mean no offense by this. i think a day at Rickey Gadson's Drag Racing School will open your eyes to whole new world of motorcycle drag racing.
