Its kind of sad, that what use to be a great series, has come to
a end. Are we suprised'' No... being that the attendance has steadly declined over the years.
Im sure that every one has formed a opinion of why...rather right,
wrong, or indifferent..none of it means anything.
I thought i'd share my own, and again it means nothing.
To be succissful you have to be able to adapt, you have to be open to change. I think AMA Drag Bike got stagment. even though there
were classes added here or there, maybe a total revamp was in order.
I also believe that they chased away one the major money makers,
Grude racing.... I can remember the staging area being packed, and the stands having as many if not more people than during the day.
Oviously the economy played a huge factor,, Gas prises, lost jobs etc.
Even though I hav'nt attended a AMA race since last year Indy,
I hate to see it come to a end...This was just my 2..

Your 2 cents is worth reading... I can add to that.. as a kid I always wanted to go to an AMA race(atco) being the closest cause all the big time riders from my area would make it a weekend ride up and back on Sunday after final..Atco was big sh$5 in maryland to ride too.. But watching the way some classes were kept for historic value was not right.. ass the dragbike seen changed so should the series.. a couple years ago, jason miller pulled the plug on outlaw prostreet bikes.. not cuz they didnt excite fans, but cuz they were becoming outdated bikes.. the prostreet class was the future, and in order to continue business u must adapt with nothing being personal, just business.. so to scott and brandi, thanks for all the fun memories and to everyone else, I'm not hating, just a business man my self and it takes a lot to be in a consumer driven business.. You have to make NESSASARY changes when needed..
